How we handle your data

Kompetenzen Technologies ("Kompetenzen", "we") runs this website, our training programmes, career consultations and job and internship listings. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It follows India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
1. What we collect

We do not use advertising or analytics trackers. Your browser stores your sign-in session and a few settings on your device so you stay signed in.
2. Why we use it
- To create and secure your account, including sending one-time verification codes (OTPs) on WhatsApp.
- To process your applications, enrolments and consultation requests, and to contact you about them.
- To match you with suitable jobs and internships and send the job alerts you asked for.
- To send updates on your applications by email or WhatsApp, only if you turned them on.
- To help you write your resume in the Resume Builder.
- To prevent spam and misuse, and to meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data.
3. WhatsApp messages
We use the official WhatsApp Business Platform from Meta to send verification codes and, if you opted in, application updates and job alerts. To stop WhatsApp messages at any time, reply STOP to any of our messages, or turn them off in your profile settings. Verification codes are still sent when you sign in, because they are needed to secure your account.
4. Who we share it with
- Employers: when you apply for a job or internship, our HR team reviews your application and may share your profile and resume with that employer.
- Service providers who run parts of the website for us, only to provide that service:
- Supabase: database, file storage and sign-in (servers in Mumbai, India)
- Meta (WhatsApp): verification codes and messages
- Google: Google sign-in and our email notifications (Gmail)
- Cloudflare: website hosting
- AI providers (Google Gemini, OpenRouter, xAI): process the resume text you give the Resume Builder to suggest improvements
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
Some of these providers may process data outside India. The homepage shows Instagram posts. Instagram may set its own cookies when they load, under Meta's privacy policy.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your account and profile while your account is active. We keep applications, enrolments and consultation requests as long as we need them to handle your request and for our records. When you ask us to delete your data, we delete it unless the law requires us to keep it.
6. How we protect it
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access is limited by account, so you see only your own data and only authorised staff can see applications. Resumes are kept in private storage. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will act quickly if something goes wrong.
7. Your rights and choices
- See a summary of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct or update it. You can edit most details in your profile.
- Withdraw consent: turn off email or WhatsApp updates in your profile, or reply STOP on WhatsApp.
- Ask us to delete your account and data.
- Raise a complaint with us. If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
8. How to delete your data
Email hr@kompetenzen.in with the subject "Delete my data", from the email address or with the mobile number linked to your account. We will confirm your identity and delete your account, profile, resumes and applications within 30 days, and reply to confirm. This also covers data received through WhatsApp or Google sign-in.
9. Children
Our services are for students and job seekers aged 18 and above. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree before you share your data with us.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services change. We will change the date at the top, and for important changes we will tell you on the website or by message.
